MFA Showcase
From 2021 to 2023 I attended Toronto Metropolitan University in order to obtain an MFA in Documentary Media. Below are some select 4-5 minute projects I completed in my production courses. My thesis documentary, One World is Writing, is featured on a separate page.
This piece highlights the career of Saeideh Akhkan as a nature documentary filmmaker.
The Lock Box is a five minute audio doc. I found a mysterious locked box from my childhood and was surprised by what I discovered inside.
On The Threshold is the first chapter of a longer documentary currently in progress. It connects Fitchburg, Massachusetts to the cryptic and magical Zone in Andrei Tarkovsky's film Stalker.
The Chess Player
The Chess Player is about actor and playwright Richard McElvain. He adapted the short story "The Royal Game" by Stefan Zweig and went on an international tour with his one man show.
Visiting the Kurdish Community Centre
Storyteller Diane Edgecomb visits the Kurdish Community Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland to perform scenes from her play "A Thousand Doorways." The play features Kurdish folktales that Diane gathered while traveling in the Kurdish regions of Turkey.
